dunnhumby Returners Programme 2020 A 5 month paid returnship programme starting 21 September 2020, with applications due by 24 May 2020, offering the possibility of a permanent role at the end of the programme. Roles are available across the business including in Data Science, Technology Services, IT Service Management, IT Engineering and Corporate Systems, with the focus on candidates with mid-to-senior level experience who have taken a minimum two year career break (including those working on a part time or freelance basis during that break). Wellcome Trust Research Career Re-Entry Fellowships If you have taken a career break of more than two years, and you already have a PhD and postdoctoral experience, the Wellcome Trust is offering a fellowship for up to four years to help you re-establish your research career. Applications for this fellowship are usually open twice each year, in April and September/October, with April 2021 being the last time this Fellowship will be offered. Applications are now closed
Newcastle University Institute of Coding Master’s Degree Apprenticeship This is not a traditional returnship programme (eg there is no minimum career break criteria). Starting in September 2020, this is a two year Master’s Degree apprenticeship in software engineering, data analytics or cyber security. This apprenticeship-levy funded programme is well-suited to business who are keen to support women returners, as well as BAME, LGBTQ and disabled people. Upon completion, apprentices will earn a Masters of Science from Newcastle University. Applications are now closed
Tideway Returner Programme Having welcomed more than 13 returners since its launch in 2015 – one of the first non-banking returnship programmes – the Tideways Returner Programme is open to people who have had a minimum two year voluntary career break from the workforce and with a successful track record in a relevant discipline. Willmott Dixon Welcome Back Programme Starting in September 2020, this programme offers a 20 week paid placement for people with a career break over more than one year (or more than one year out of the construction industry). Candidates with a background in main contracting, residential building or interior fit-out are invited to apply, but so are professionals from other industries with transferable skills. CapGemini Relaunch@Capgemini Programme This is a supported hiring process, with returners invited to apply for specific returners roles listed on the Relaunch website, but welcome to apply for any other advertised roles across the organisation.
NatWest Comeback Programme A 12 week paid returnship aimed at people who were previously in senior manager roles within financial services and have been out of the workplace for at least two years. More details and how to apply here

KPMG Return to Work Programme Various locations and teams including audit, tax, and legal, with both part time and remote working options available. The KPMG Return to Audit programme, for example, offers two months of full time return to work development, followed by flexible roles in one of two formats – either 3-4 days per week (with one of those at home), or structured within school hours (9.30am-2.30pm). There is no application deadline as this is an open programme. Visit the KPMG Return to Work Programme website to apply for one of the available ‘return to’ roles.
Camden Council Career Returners Programme A London-based, 6 month, paid returnship programme, run by Camden Council, with roles available in Finance, Legal and IT. Applications close 15 March 2020. Applications are now closed
AECOM Returners Programme 2020 A six month, UK wide, returnship for people who have taken at least a two year career break and with experience in Civil Infrastructure, Environment and Ground Engineering or Buildings and Places (including sustainability consulting and project management). Applications close 28 February 2020 and the returnship programme commences on 27 April 2020. Applications are now closed
Grant Thornton 2020 Returner Programme A six month paid returnship in London, starting in March/April 2020, for experienced professionals with at least an 18 month extended career break. Applications close 17 February 2020. Applications are now closed
Morgan Sindall Returnship Programme 2020 A three month return to work programme for people who have had a minimum 18 month voluntary career break, either with a background in construction and infrastructure or an interest in the sector and with relevant transferrable skills. Opportunities are available at Morgan Sindall offices in Rugby, London, Birmingham, Leicester, Southampton, Glasgow, Manchester, Cumbria and many more UK locations. The programme offers the opportunity for a phased return, starting with a minimum 3 days per week and building up to 5 days in the last month of the programme. Applications close 15 February 2020. UBS Career Comeback Programme 2020 The UBS Career Comeback Programme is designed for professionals with relevant experience who have been on a career break or out of the traditional workplace for two or more years. Unlike many other return to work programmes, the UBS Career Comeback Programme recruits individuals directly into permanent roles, supporting their return to work with mentoring, coaching and classroom learning. Full time and part time (minimum 60% of full-time equivalent) opportunities are available. Applications close 15 February 2020. Applications are now closed
BlackRock London Returners Programme 2020 A six month return to work programme, based in London, for up to 5 individuals with experience in Investment Management or broader Financial Services. Open to applicants with a minimum 18 month career break (or those have worked in other industries), with no upper career break limit. Balfour Beatty Returners Programme 2020 A UK wide, 21 week paid returnship commencing in January 2020, designed to kick start careers for those who have had a career break of two years or more.
